katzung Junior Member Total Topics: 3 Total Posts: 12	Posted 05/24/09 - 05:17 PM     #2 Surgery is generally competetive than other fields but less so than ENT, Opthal or Orthopedics, higer the score it is better, I would say for a decent shot APART FROM OTHER THINGS BEING GOOD ON UR CV, atleast > 95 on both steps would be bare minimum. Also try and bolster your research and US Clinical experience, many people also apply after a year or two of prilim surgery.

How z it gna affect me for a surgery match???? I don think i can go 4 electives or long term research now.. Observership is an option 4 me.. Also katzung can u plz xplain a lil abt the prelim surgery path?
