hi dumitru...ill be starting ap/cp in new york in july... Id like to see a thread regarding virtually everything that is not related to the hospital... from opening a bank account, buying furniture or getting the right apt..or just money management or something like that..how does that sound?.....i think most img's ran into a wall face first when it comes to "start a living" outside the country they have lived forever.....

Spunds great ... feel free to talk about every aspect of our lifes.
I can tell you that I do a lot of stuff online, from opening a bank account and money management, paying bills automatically, buying tickets of any kind, or books or even the TV.
What I can't do is buying furniture and I kind of hate it going to the store too, my wife looks for staf then when she finds smthing we go togheter to buy it.

Hi, I got my ssn before I mached, about 5 yrs ago. Don't remember exactly the details, I think we went to a local office, submitted an aplication then I got the card by mail. My kids also got the cards by mail, we completed their forms in the hospital.
